New Zealand rock band Capital Theatre are making waves in the U.S. rock scene with the band’s current single ‘Fait Accompli’ sitting comfortably in the top 40 active rock radio chart.
The band’s debut concept album ‘A Hero’s Journey,’ was recorded with legendary rock producer Mike Clink (Guns N’ Roses, Megadeth, Steve Via) and was released in June 2022, receiving huge editorial support from all major streaming services with over 20M views on YouTube alone.
Capital Theatre have spent much of 2022 in the United States, completing two radio promotional tours, with an appearance at the Gathering Music Conference. The band has teamed up again with Mike Clink and are currently working on their second album East West and Sunset Studios in Los Angeles.
The first single from ‘Major Arcana’ is set for release in the U.S. in February 2023.
The band’s commitment to the territory has paid off with APA signing them in August 2022, with Vice President/Head of Performing Arts Craig Newman steering the Capital Theatre ship.
“There is no doubt in my mind that this band has every tool it takes to achieve success. Combine music that moves the body and soul with a mesmerizing stage show…you’ve got Capital Theatre,” say Newman.
Capital Theatre have been booked onto major US festivals in 2023, a year that is sure to see this band enter the mainstream fold of rock culture in the United States, if not globally.
“We’ve definitely written songs for festivals with big rock riffs and theatrical moments, it’s an exciting time for rock music’s revival and we’re stoked to be a part of it.” Says frontman Adam Stevenson.
Between trips abroad Capital Theatre embarked on a nationwide tour across New Zealand to fans that eagerly awaited this bands first headlining tour. With consistent charting in the top 10 in New Zealand’s rock radio charts, Capital Theatre are considered a mainstay of the New Zealand rock scene and will be playing the rock stage at New Zealand’s Homegrown Festival in Wellington March 2023.
